Overlap matching

Party fit is the mean distance on overlapping Hardened positions only. Holds and unreviewed pairs are skipped, never treated as neutral. A party is crowned only if it has at least 5 comparable cells.

Response scale: Strongly agree +2 · Agree +1 · Disagree −1 · Strongly disagree −2. Party codes are −2 or +2 when hardened. Qualitative bands: strong ≤0.33 · moderate ≤0.66 · else weak. The rank winner needs ≥5 overlapping Hardened positions.

Worked example (fictional)

A user who strongly favours markets, merit appointments, and strict borders will typically land nearer parties coded toward those poles (e.g. DA / ActionSA) and further from parties coded toward nationalisation and expansive state ownership (e.g. EFF). Accountability items below the ranking are contextual only.
